Bringing back this blog. Watch out y’all.

January 25/26 Researching and sketching out plans to make a laser cut pinhole camera. My dream is that this could be really easily produced with wood and some adhesive. I’ve been thinking about the idea of batches lately- creating things in groups of 10 or so. This is definitely inspired by recent trips to a certain Swedish furniture giant, and their use of flat packing and customer brawn to easily and economically ship consumer goods. Been taking apart and examing my hipster cameras built on similar principles for inspiration.

I came up with the idea for this graphic after seeing this. I’m (re)reading The Design of Everyday Things, for my User Interface Design class at Georgia Tech.

No finished product to show for the day. I’m taking a glasblowing class at Duckbill studios in Atlanta, and this was my first day of class. I made a(n okay) paper weight- its (sorta) egg shaped with bubbles inside. Next week once it’s finished annealing and sanded I’ll be able to show it off.

Finished teepee. This is a project I’ve been working on on and off for a year. This is teepee #4, they’ve been getting bigger and better constructed as I’ve gone along.

I love food, who doesn’t. This day, in honor of National Popcorn Day, I decided to make some popcorn. Not the microwave popcorn, but the stove top kind. I’ve always been a little bit afraid to try this, stemming from my fears of setting my kitchen ablaze. This wa the day I set that fear aside and ventured to three different grocery stores to get non-microwaveable popcorn. It’s really simple, I used this recipe and added fresh ground pepper and pamesan… mmm!

Yuck, another day of schoolwork and applying for jobs and filling out paperwork to get my tax money back. Here’s one of the many desks in my house where I work. You can see half finished projects amongst the school work.

Initial sketches for a thermometer I want to build. Tells you color input to infer temperature rather than a number. Hopefully Ill be able to build some sort of prototype in my beginner glass blowing class, and figure out the wiring shortly.

Sorry y’all, there’s nothing creative to show for January 12. I still did work, but it was mostly in the form of tweaking my resume and applying for jobs. Day 3 of Snowpocalypse in Atlanta, being snowed in the house with nothing to do and the looming depression from unemployment basically brought my creativity to a low.
